Trump's pardon of an ex-Honduran president is shocking. So is the history of US support for him | Dana Frank

🤔 I'm so done with this pardon. It's like Trump is trying to rewrite history or something. The fact that he's issuing a pardon for someone who's been involved in all these shady dealings just goes to show how tone-deaf he is when it comes to US foreign policy. And let's not forget about the millions of people who suffered under Hernandez's rule - the extortion, murder, and corruption were real, and it's outrageous that Trump is trying to sweep them under the rug.

I mean, what's next? Is Trump going to pardon some other warlord or dictator just because they're friends with him? It's not about giving people a second chance; it's about holding people accountable for their actions. And as for the US backing Hernandez all those years ago... yeah, that's just embarrassing. We should be ashamed of ourselves, not Trump. 😒

omg i cant even right now this pardon is like totally mindblowing like how can one person get away with so many crimes and have someone else give them a free pass 🙅‍♂️ i feel for all those people who suffered under hernandez's rule they deserve justice not some watered down apology from trump 🤷‍♀️ its all about the politics and the money behind it, not about what's right or wrong in this case.
