Australia social media ban: Teens challenge law before High Court

OMG, can you believe these two Aussie teens are taking on the whole country over social media 🤣👀! I mean, I get it, free communication is important, but come on, 15-year-olds vs gov't? That's like me trying to convince my grandma to try TikTok 😂. Seriously though, it's kinda cool that they're standing up for what they believe in, even if it means going toe-to-toe with the big cheeses 🤷‍♂️.

I'm not sure about this law, but I do know I don't want the gov't controlling my online life too much 😳. Like, shouldn't we be taught how to navigate the internet safely and critically, rather than being blocked out altogether? Just saying...

Idk what's going on with these kids though 🤷‍♂️... like they're fighting against a ban that's literally designed to protect them from online predators and cyberbullying. It feels like they're trying to justify their own reckless behavior online by saying it's an infringement on their "right" to free communication 🙄... I mean, newsflash: there are consequences for your actions online and you can't just say 'oh woe is me' when you get caught up in something shady. And yeah, I do agree with the gov that they should have safeguards in place instead of just blocking access altogether 👍

I'm all for giving these kids a say in how they want to use their online space... back in my day we didn't have all this social media fuss but we figured things out without any rules 🤷‍♂️. It's like, what's the harm in letting them create accounts if they're responsible enough? I mean, I had a dial-up connection and I was still able to learn a thing or two about the digital world 📊.

These laws are meant to protect kids, but I think there's more to it than that... it's like they want to control what we do online. Newsflash: we're adults now (well, most of us are 😉) and we can handle ourselves in the digital world. Let's give these teens a break and let them fight for their rights 🤝.
