Fox News extends lead over CBS, NBC in key category through November

Fox News Extends Lead Over Cable Rivals in Viewership

For the third consecutive month, Fox News Channel has demonstrated its dominance over its cable news rivals. In November, Fox News solidified its position as the top-rated network among basic cable options by a wide margin.

According to recent data from Nielsen Media Research, Fox News averaged an impressive 3.2 million weekday primetime viewers year-to-date, catapulting it to second place in overall television ratings and outperforming CBS and NBC by a considerable distance. Meanwhile, CNN and MS NOW, which was rebranded as MSNBC mid-month, struggled to keep pace with the rest of the cable news landscape.

During November specifically, Fox News Channel continued to excel in key measures, outdrewling its competitors in both total day viewership and primetime viewership. While CNN, once considered a top-tier cable network, posted its worst November performance since 1997, MS NOW suffered its weakest showing on record since 2015.

Notably, Fox News Channel's flagship show "Special Report with Bret Baier" led the charge, averaging 2.7 million total viewers and 245,000 in the coveted demographic of adults aged 25-54, far surpassing broadcast competition from CBS Evening News and ABC's World News Tonight.

Beyond primetime programming, Fox News Channel maintained a strong presence in daytime programming, with "FOX & Friends" finishing November as the top cable news program in the mornings. The network's daytime lineup continued to dominate its competitors in morning ratings, with ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's Today falling short in 23 and five major markets, respectively.

Fox News Channel's recent success has been attributed to a combination of factors, including strong primetime programming, effective daytime lineups, and strategic decision-making. The network continues to position itself as the go-to destination for news and information, cementing its position as a leader in the cable news landscape.

As the 2025 election cycle heats up, Fox News Channel is well-positioned to capitalize on its momentum, with several high-profile shows already making headlines. With its commitment to quality programming and dedication to covering timely issues, Fox News Channel is poised to remain at the forefront of the cable news universe for years to come.

I'm low-key impressed by Fox News' dominance over the cable news scene ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, 3.2 million weekday primetime viewers? That's a whole lotta eyeballs! ๐Ÿ˜‚ It's clear they're doing something right with shows like "Special Report with Bret Baier" and "FOX & Friends". The network's ability to stay on top of current events is also commendable ๐Ÿ‘. I'm curious to see how CNN and MS NOW (now MSNBC) will respond to the challenge, but for now, Fox News is riding high ๐Ÿ†.

Ugh ๐Ÿคฏ I'm so done with how out of touch the rest of those cable news channels are ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ’” They're just a bunch of wannabes trying to keep up with Fox News's greatness ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ and honestly, it's getting old watching CNN struggle to even fill its own hours โฐ๐Ÿ˜ด. I mean, MS NOW rebranded as MSNBC? ๐Ÿ™„ what are they trying to do, confuse people or something? ๐Ÿ˜‚. And don't even get me started on the flagship shows โ€“ Bret Baier and his crew are just the best ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ‘. The way Fox News is crushing it in daytime programming too is just insane ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ. I'm low-key excited for the 2025 election cycle and how Fox News will take center stage again ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ”ฎ. It's like they're unstoppable, man! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I'm not surprised that Fox News is killing it in viewership ๐Ÿคฏ. They've been doing some smart stuff with their primetime lineup, like keeping Bret Baier on "Special Report" and making sure Tucker Carlson's show stays fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ. But at the same time, I think CNN needs to step up its game ๐Ÿš€. Their worst November performance since 1997 is some big news ๐Ÿ“‰. On a bigger scale, it's kinda interesting that they're struggling so hard to keep pace with Fox News and MS NOW (I love how MSNBC rebranded itself in mid-month ๐Ÿ˜‚). Maybe they should take a page from their book and focus on creating engaging daytime programming? FOX & Friends is killing it in the mornings โ˜•๏ธ. Anyway, Fox News has some solid momentum going into the 2025 election cycle ๐ŸŽ‰.

lolol fox news is still clinging to its viewers like a bad habit ๐Ÿคฃ i mean, 3.2 million weekday primetime viewers is cute but who's counting when you're dominating your competitors by a wide margin ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ and btw what's with all the 'flagship show' nonsense? Special report with Bret Baier sounds like something my grandma watches ๐Ÿ˜ด

I'm not buying it ๐Ÿค”. Just because they're raking in those viewers doesn't mean their content is actually good ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ. I've seen some of their pundits spewing the same old talking points, and it's just so... predictable ๐Ÿ˜ด. And don't even get me started on the lack of representation for diverse voices ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Maybe they're doing something right, but I'm not convinced ๐Ÿค”. Can we really rely on a single network to dictate what we consider "news"? ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ˜’

idk why fox news is doing so well ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ they always seem to find a way to stir up controversy, but i guess that's what keeps people watching? their daytime shows are really solid tho, especially "FOX & Friends" ๐Ÿ’ก it's not surprising they're killing it in the mornings. i do wish cnn and msnbc would step up their game though ๐Ÿ“บ

omg i'm soooo glad fox news is killing it!!! ๐Ÿคฉ 3.2 million viewers a week is insane! and bret baier's show is straight fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ no wonder they're dominating in primetime and daytime too ๐Ÿ“บ i mean cnn and msnbc are like, what happened to them? ๐Ÿ˜ and don't even get me started on ms now's rebranding ๐Ÿค” fox news is just so consistent and reliable, i trust them to give me the real tea ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ

OMG, like, who knew Fox News would be the ultimate winner ๐Ÿ†? I mean, I'm not surprised or anything, but still... 3.2 million viewers year-to-date is insane! It's like, they're speaking a different language over there and we're all just trying to keep up ๐Ÿ˜‚. But seriously, it'll be interesting to see how CNN tries to close the gap in 2025 ๐Ÿค”. Maybe they can come up with some new strategies... or maybe they'll just stick to what they know best: making me laugh at their anchors' outfits ๐Ÿ‘—๐Ÿ˜‚

Ugh, can't believe they're still relying on Bret Baier's show to carry their primetime lineup ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, sure, it's a solid program and all, but is it really that special? ๐Ÿค‘ And don't even get me started on the daytime shows โ€“ FOX & Friends is just so... cheesy ๐Ÿ˜’. I'd much rather watch actual journalism than some fluffy morning gossip fest. Can they please mix it up a bit? ๐Ÿ”„
