More than 200,000 power banks sold on Amazon recalled over fire and burn risks

Amazon Recalls Over 200,000 Portable Power Banks Due to Fire and Burn Risks

A massive recall has been issued for over 210,000 portable power banks sold on Amazon, following reports of fire and burn hazards caused by overheating. The recalled products, model BI-B41 from INIU, have a distinctive black or blue case with an INIU logo and a paw-print LED light on the front.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, at least 15 reports of the power banks overheating were received, resulting in 11 cases of fires that caused minor burn injuries and property damage. The recall only affects portable power banks with specific serial numbers: 000G21, 000H21, 000I21, and 000L21.

Consumers who purchased the affected power banks are advised to stop using them immediately and visit INIU's website to verify their product serial number and register for a full refund. It is essential for users of lithium-ion batteries, commonly found in various products such as electronics, appliances, and cordless tools, to be aware of potential risks.

In cases where an odor, color change, excessive heat, shape change, leaking, or unusual noises are detected, it is recommended that the product is not used further. Additionally, consumers with lithium-ion batteries should not dispose of them in regular trash or recycling bins; instead, they should contact their local household hazardous waste collection center for guidance on proper disposal.

The recall highlights ongoing concerns regarding the risks associated with lithium-ion batteries and serves as a reminder to exercise caution when using these devices.

๐Ÿค” Man, think about it... all these portable power banks, just sitting there, giving us a convenient way to charge our phones on-the-go... but at what cost? ๐Ÿ“ˆ We're so used to being connected, we don't even think twice about the potential risks that come with it. I mean, 15 reports of overheating and fires? That's like, crazy. And it makes you wonder, are we really just careless with our stuff, or is it just a matter of time before something goes wrong? ๐Ÿšง We need to be more mindful of these things, not just for ourselves, but for the environment too... I mean, those lithium-ion batteries, they're not biodegradable, right? So, yeah, this recall's like a wake-up call, you know? ๐Ÿ˜ด

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’ก Just saw this recall news and I'm like "Whoa, portable power banks can be super sketchy!" ๐Ÿคฏ You gotta keep an eye on those things.

Think of it like a battery in your phone - you know, the one that's always draining? ๐Ÿ˜’ Well, these power banks are kinda like that but on steroids. They got some serious heat issues and are causing fires! ๐Ÿ”ฅ Like, burn-hazard-level fires.

For real though, if someone gets burned from using one of these, it's not worth the risk. ๐Ÿค• So, to all my fellow Amazon shoppers out there... please check your power banks ASAP! ๐Ÿ‘€ Make sure you've got a working serial number and get that refund.

I made a little diagram to help with this:

omg u guys ๐Ÿคฏ! just saw this news about amazon recalling over 200k portable power banks due to fire & burn hazards... so scary! i always know that lithium-ion batteries can be a bit unpredictable, but i never thought they'd cause fires like that ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. it's crazy how many people had to deal with minor burns & property damage because of these faulty power banks ๐Ÿค•.

anyway, if u have one of the affected power banks, pls stop using it ASAP and head over to INIU's website to check ur serial number & register for a refund ๐Ÿ’ธ. don't be stingy tho, those people who got burned deserve their money back โฐ. also, remember to dispose of lithium-ion batteries properly - dont just chuck them in the regular trash ๐Ÿšฎ, that's just not cool.

Ugh ๐Ÿคฏ, I just got an email from INIU saying my power bank is one of the ones that's been recalled! I know, I know, I should have checked the serial number sooner... like everyone else ๐Ÿ˜‚. I mean, it's not like it's a new thing to happen - remember those Samsung Galaxy Note 7s? ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Anyway, glad they're taking responsibility and issuing refunds. Can't believe we had to wait this long for them to do something about it though... sigh ๐Ÿ’”. And honestly, can we just be more careful with these lithium-ion batteries already?! ๐Ÿ™„ I mean, I'm not saying people are careless or anything (coughs), but seriously, it's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to tech stuff ๐Ÿ”ง.

Omg what's going on with all these power bank recalls? ๐Ÿคฏ Like I'm not gonna lie, I've had some close calls with faulty chargers before... it's always better to be safe than sorry. The fact that they're recalling over 200k units is crazy! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ What's the point of even buying something if it's just gonna malfunction like this? INIU needs to step up their quality control game ASAP. Anyone else had issues with their power bank? ๐Ÿค”

Ugh, I'm so done with those cheap power banks ๐Ÿ™„! Like, who makes 'em anyway? INIU, apparently. Their 200k+ power banks are like a fire waiting to happen ๐Ÿ”ฅ. I mean, 11 fires and some minor burns... that's just crazy talk. And the worst part is, they're selling these super cheap online - it's not like you have to break the bank to get one of these "deals" ๐Ÿค‘.

I'm actually kinda surprised Amazon didn't do a recall sooner. I mean, it's not like these power banks are some newfangled tech or anything ๐Ÿ’ป. They're just lithium-ion batteries in a package... come on! Anyway, kudos to the CPSC for getting after INIU and making people aware of this issue. It's about time someone took responsibility for putting out these flammable little monstrosities ๐Ÿš’.

By the way, can we talk about how crazy it is that you have to go through all that to get a refund? Like, isn't there some kind of simple online form or something? Geez...

ugh what a relief that amazon is finally taking action on this! i had one of those power banks and was like "okay cool, portable charger" but now i'm thinking twice about it ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿšจ anyone else who's had issues with this brand? i mean we all know lithium-ion batteries can be sketchy so at least INIU is stepping up to take responsibility for these faulty products ๐Ÿ’ฏ. hope everyone gets their refund and gets a new, safer charger! ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ป

Ugh, great, another product from China catching fire ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, who uses 200k power banks in one go? Anyway, glad they're recalling them, can't believe people actually bought these things ๐Ÿ’ธ. And seriously, if you have a paw-print LED light on your phone charger, it's probably not the first sign of trouble ๐Ÿ”ด. I'm surprised it took this long to notice, honestly. Now we gotta deal with all these refunds and whatnot ๐Ÿค‘. Can't say I'm shocked, but still, common sense would've been better here ๐Ÿ‘Ž.

omg just got that email from amazon about one of my fave portable power banks being recalled ๐Ÿคฏ like what even is this? some company INIU made 200k units with faulty battery & now ppl can catch fire ๐Ÿ˜ฑ i feel so bad for those who bought it. anyone else use this thing? seriously though, lithium-ion batteries are a real concern - gotta be more careful when we use them ๐Ÿ’ก just saying

omg what's up with amazon right now? 1st it's warehouse fires and now this massive recall of portable power banks i mean i know they can get hot but 210k units is crazy ๐Ÿคฏ like how did this even happen? and all those people have to deal with minor burns and property damage because of it? that's just not right ๐Ÿ˜”

i feel bad for the ppl who bought these power banks thinking they were safe to use but now they gotta deal with the hassle of getting a refund or dealing with an inua customer service ๐Ÿ˜ฉ anyway, i guess this is a good reminder to all of us about being cautious when using lithium-ion batteries. we should really be more careful about how we dispose of them too...it's just not worth the risk ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ”ฅ OMG just read about this massive recall of portable power banks from Amazon!!! Like, 210k units are being pulled off shelves due to fire & burn hazards ๐Ÿคฏ? That's crazy! I mean, who knew they could be so deadly? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I'm all for safety first, but can't believe these things were selling on Amazon in the first place... like, what kinda quality control is that?! ๐Ÿ’ฃ Anyway, gotta check my power bank serial number ASAP ๐Ÿ‘€ and get that refund. Don't wanna be one of those people who gets burned (literally ๐Ÿค•) just because they didn't do their research ๐Ÿ˜’. Seriously though, folks need to stay vigilant when it comes to these lithium-ion batteries... always on the lookout for signs of trouble ๐Ÿ”!

man this is crazy ๐Ÿคฏ like what's going on with those power banks? 210k are being recalled because they might catch fire or burn you? that's insane! i'm all for tech innovation but safety has gotta be the priority too. it's not just about the people who got hurt, it's also about the ones who don't know any better and just start using those power banks without checking the serial numbers. we need to make sure consumers are more aware of these risks, especially with lithium-ion batteries being so common in our daily life ๐Ÿšจ

๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿšจ OMG y'all, like just had the craziest news ๐Ÿคฏ - Amazon is recalling over 200k portable power banks due to FIRE ๐Ÿ”ฅ & burn risks!!! I'm literally shaking thinking about all those people who bought them without knowing they're gonna be a hazard ๐Ÿ’€. And can you believe it's only 15 reported cases of overheating already? That's still a lot, tbh ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. I mean, who knew lithium-ion batteries could be so deadly? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ We need to be more careful with these things, for sure ๐Ÿ‘. I'm all about staying safe and informed ๐Ÿ’ก. Has anyone else heard about this recall? ๐Ÿค”

Ugh, what's up with all these portable power bank recalls?! ๐Ÿคฏ I remember buying one of those INIU ones last year and it was working fine, but now it's like they're the only problem child ๐Ÿ™„. I mean, I know lithium-ion batteries can be finicky, but come on, 200k+ units recalled? That's crazy! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ And it's not just that, it's the fact that people were hurt because of it... minor burns and all, but still ๐Ÿ’”. Can't we just have safe products for once?! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I'm definitely gonna check my power bank and make sure it's not on that list ๐Ÿ“. And yeah, proper disposal is a thing now, who knew? ๐Ÿšฎ

Ugh, people gotta be more careful w/ their gadgets ๐Ÿ™„! I mean, 15 reports of fires from portable power banks? That's crazy talk! You'd think folks would know better by now about the risks of lithium-ion batteries ๐Ÿ”ฅ. I'm glad INIU is taking responsibility and issuing a recall, but seriously, shouldn't people be doing their own research before shelling out cash for something that could potentially catch on fire?! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ Anyway, gotta give credit to Amazon for getting the word out โ€“ hopefully it'll prevent some more chaos ๐Ÿ˜….

Ugh, I'm so glad Amazon is recalling those power banks ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, who wants to risk their stuff catching fire? ๐Ÿš’ It's like, common sense, right? Those little power banks can get super hot and cause some serious damage. And the fact that there were 15 reports of them overheating already is just scary ๐Ÿ˜ฑ.

I feel bad for all those people who got burned or had property damage because of these faulty products. But at least Amazon is taking responsibility and issuing a recall ๐Ÿ™. It's like, they knew something was up and decided to do the right thing. And I'm sure it's a huge relief to consumers who bought those power banks.

I think we should all just be more aware of these kinds of risks when using lithium-ion batteries ๐Ÿš€. They're convenient, but safety always comes first ๐Ÿ’ฏ.

This is just another example of corporations prioritizing profits over consumer safety ๐Ÿค‘. I mean, can you imagine if this happened with cars or planes? We'd be having a national conversation about how to ensure public safety ASAP ๐Ÿ’ฅ. With portable power banks, it's like we're expected to be experts in chemistry and physics just to use them without risking our lives ๐Ÿ”ฌ. It's not like INIU is taking full responsibility for their product and implementing proper quality control measures; they're just issuing a recall when people start complaining ๐Ÿ™„. And what about the environmental impact of these lithium-ion batteries? We're still figuring out how to dispose of them properly, and now we're told to contact our local waste centers... it's like we're being left in the dark ๐Ÿ”ฎ. This whole thing reeks of corporate negligence, if you ask me ๐Ÿ‘€.

Ugh, I'm so done with Amazon's lack of quality control ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. I mean, who lets 210k portable power banks hit the market without proper safety checks? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ And now we've got people reporting fires and burns because of it? Not cool, Amazon. Not cool at all ๐Ÿ‘Ž.

I swear, every time I hear about a major recall like this one, I think back to all the times I've clicked on those "deals" on Amazon and thought, "Hey, that's a great price for a portable power bank!" ๐Ÿค‘ Little did I know, it was just gonna be a ticking time bomb waiting to go off ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

And don't even get me started on how hard it is to get in touch with the manufacturer, INIU. Their website is like a bad joke โ€“ you gotta wade through a sea of customer support FAQs and links before you can even find the serial number lookup page ๐Ÿคฏ.

I guess this is just another reminder for us consumers to be more vigilant when shopping online and to read those fine print documents (or not, because let's be real, who reads those things? ๐Ÿ˜’).

Ugh, portable power banks are just like those old-school battery packs from the 90s ๐Ÿ™„. Remember those clunky ones that used to make your backpack weigh a ton? Yeah, they were basically safe... compared to these new-fangled lithium-ion batteries that can explode in your hands ๐Ÿ”ฅ. I mean, who needs that kind of stress when you're just trying to charge your phone? And now we gotta deal with recalls like this? It's just too much for my old brain to handle ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

I guess it's good that Amazon is doing something about it, but can't they've done this sooner? Like, when was the last time you saw a news report about a portable power bank catching fire? ๐Ÿค” I swear, it's like we're just now realizing how flammable these things are. And what's with all these special serial numbers and website verifications? It's like we need to be detective agents or something ๐Ÿ’ก.

I'm just glad that everyone is safe... for now ๐Ÿ˜Œ. But can't we just stick with good ol' traditional batteries, you know? The kind that don't make your phone die after 5 minutes of use ๐Ÿ“ด.
