Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 1,382

Over 1,382 Days into the War: Key Events Unfold in Ukraine-Russia Conflict

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has entered its 1,382nd day, with both sides continuing to exchange blows. In a major escalation on Sunday, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Kremenchuk, a central Ukrainian city, which has left widespread damage.

According to local officials, the extent of the destruction is still unclear. The Kyiv Independent reported that Ukraine's military downed 585 drones and 30 missiles from Russia in the overnight attack, while Russia claimed it launched 653 drones and 51 missiles on Ukraine.

The situation took a worrying turn when Ukrainian power facilities in eight regions were damaged, resulting in blackouts and forcing nuclear power plants to cut their output. The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is under Russian control, temporarily lost all off-site power due to military activities before reconnecting to a 330 kilowatt power line.

Russia's Ministry of Defence confirmed the attack on Saturday, stating that its forces had launched a "massive strike" in response to alleged Ukrainian assaults on civilian targets. However, Ukraine denied these claims and said it had targeted Russian oil refineries and shell-casing manufacturing plants.

The conflict has also taken a diplomatic turn with US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, holding talks with Ukrainian officials in Miami. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope for genuine peace negotiations with the United States.

French President Emmanuel Macron is also set to attend a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in London on Monday. Meanwhile, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced plans to send a business delegation to Russia ahead of the Ukraine war's end.

The situation remains fluid, with both sides continuing to engage in military operations and diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict.

omg 😱 1,382 days of fighting already 😩 i feel like we're stuck in a never-ending loop πŸ”„πŸ’” the world needs a break from all this violence πŸ’₯ can't we just talk things out πŸ€πŸ’¬ like how about a global ceasefire πŸ™ and some serious peace talks πŸ“šπŸ‘₯ the kids are gonna grow up with a whole different world 🌎 and it's just so sad πŸ˜”

🚨🌎 I'm getting so tired of all these news updates about the Ukraine-Russia conflict 🀯! Like, can't we just have a peaceful day for once? 😩 The numbers are getting crazy too - 1,382 days in and it's still going on strong πŸ’₯. I mean, I get that both sides have valid points, but at what cost? πŸ€• The blackouts and nuclear power plant scares are super concerning πŸ”΄πŸ’‘.

It's interesting to see the diplomatic efforts trying to resolve this though πŸ‘€. With all these world leaders meeting up, maybe they can finally hammer out a peace treaty 🌈. But until then, I'll just be over here, fact-checking and organizing my news feeds into logical sections πŸ“ŠπŸ’»

πŸ€” thinkin about this war for so long now, you'd think people would be tired of fightin... but here we are πŸ™„. what I wanna know is, when do we stop? is it always gonna be us vs them? or can't we find a way to sit down and talk? 🀝 I mean, if we could just take that first step, who knows what good might come outta it? 🌈 gotta keep tryin, even when it feels like the whole world's against us... because maybe, just maybe, there's someone on the other side thinkin the same thing 🀞.

Man, this war has been dragging on for ages right? 1,382 days is crazy! I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. It feels like just yesterday we were talking about the initial invasion and now it's like a whole different world out there. The scale of destruction in Kremenchuk is just devastating - can you imagine waking up to find your city gone? 🀯

And these drone attacks are getting more intense by the day. 585 drones downed by Ukraine, but Russia claims they lost way more? It's hard to know who's telling the truth at this point. The situation with the nuclear power plant is super worrying - losing off-site power can have major implications.

I'm glad to see some world leaders trying to get involved and broker peace talks. Trump, Macron, Starmer, and Merz all in one meeting? That's gotta be some serious diplomatic effort going on. And Hungary sending a business delegation to Russia? I guess that's an attempt to show support or something? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

🀯 man this war is getting so wild, 1,382 days in & it still no solution πŸ’” i dont get why russia keep attacking ukraine its like they think they can just take over πŸ€– meanwhile ukraine keep fighting back & its affecting everyone else too 🌎 like what about the drones & missiles hitting civilians? πŸš€ shouldnt both sides just talk it out? πŸ—£οΈ

Its been ages since we started thinking about this whole thing... 🀯 1,382 days in and it just keeps getting more intense. I think its a huge relief that people from different countries are trying to talk things out - Ukraine's president sounds pretty hopeful about US involvement, fingers crossed that something real comes of these talks. πŸ’‘ But, like, the situation is still super unclear. What even is the target with all these drone attacks? Is it just a big mess or is there some actual progress being made that we're not seeing? πŸ€”

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this endless war 🀯. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Ukraine's right to defend itself, but 1,382 days is just crazy! πŸ™„ It feels like we've been hearing about this same conflict on repeat for ages.

The fact that both sides are accusing each other of launching attacks on civilian targets is super concerning 🚨. I mean, can't they just talk things out? The world needs to step in and help them find a peaceful solution ASAP! πŸ’– It's not like there aren't enough diplomats flying around to sort this out.

I love that Ukraine's got some serious tech skills, taking down 585 drones and all πŸ€–. But at the same time, the damage to power facilities is just devastating ⚑️. I hope they're able to rebuild quickly and get back to normal soon.

It's also good to see world leaders like Macron and Starmer trying to broker some peace talks πŸ’¬. Maybe this meeting in London will be the turning point we need? 🀞 A business delegation from Hungary going to Russia is a pretty interesting move, though... only time will tell if that'll help or hinder things πŸ“ˆ
